New Swim Line Inspired By First Beers, Tokes, And Kisses

When you hear that a swimwear line is mostly influenced by “friends, rebellion, summer fun, first beers, first tokes, and first kisses,” you know it’s gonna be good. But with Minnow Bathers, the Toronto-based company with designers and best pals Karen Donaldson and Vanessa Warrack at the helm, you know it’s also going to feature sick prints, flattering cuts, and reasonable prices. Minnow Bathers is all about unexpected but intuitive shapes (a one-piece that features a rad upper-torso triangle cut out; a bandeau top and high-wasted bottoms that become one with the addition of sewn-in suspenders). Donaldson says they focused on promoting "teenage rebellion,” which translates to cartoon marijuana leaves, watercolor stripes on a fun two-piece, and a cloud prints that look as if they were captured through your mom’s vintage Holga camera. You might be on your thousandth beer, toke, or kiss by now, but that's no excuse to avoid indulging in this teenage dream.
