Your No-Sequin Guide To New Year’s Eve

We love sequins just as much as the next person, but that doesn't mean we're required to wear the same — and, let's admit it, slightly cliché — New Year's Eve uniform year after year. Of course, there's nothing wrong with sticking to your spangly dress and glittery heels. But, what we're getting at here is that there are plenty of just-as-festive alternatives for those suffering from sequin-dress fatigue.

For this go-around, we're favoring brilliantly-colored feathers, jewel-tone metallics, and abstract prints (and, okay, a few sparkly accessories, too). To prep in advance of the ball drop, we crafted five party-ready outfits with the aforementioned themes in mind. Sequins are absent from the slideshow, but we promise that with all these other frills, you won't miss them much at all.
