Mothers, hide your daughters' nostrils: It seems that nose rings, a long-standing staple of moderate adolescent rebellion, may be rearing their tiny heads into the spotlight. As noticed by Into The Gloss, the nose piercing — from septum to nostril — appears to be the new NBD in body modification. With supporting evidence in the form of two huge magazine covers and a list of young trendsetters casually sporting this mid-face bedazzlement, we're pretty much convinced that this is indeed a thing... again.
This is great news for those of us whose nostril puncture never quite closed up (taking on the unfortunate form of something between a blackhead and a large pore). We got pretty sick of septum piercings around 2009, but hey: Zoe Kravitz does look amazing with that hint of gold beneath the tip of her nose.
Our one concern: What will the kids do to subtly give their parents the finger now that nose rings are going mainstream? Our fingers are crossed that eyebrow piercings don't come back now, too. (Into The Gloss
