A new school year means a new wardrobe, right? And, now that class is back in session here in NYC, we hit the campus streets of the city's biggest schools — NYU and Columbia — in search of the most fashionable college students in Manhattan.
What we found were two totally different aesthetics: Those downtown dwellers hanging in Washington Square Park gravitate toward vintage goods or designer pieces (like ACNE and Opening Ceremony), while the Morningside Heights crowd opts for laid-back, comfortable, and accessible looks culled from the high street (Gap and Uniqlo).
Together, the two schools create the perfect playground for an array of graphic tees, moto jackets, and playful accessories that are giving the runways a run for their money this fall.
Ahead, see 38 students deserving of an A+ in the fashion department, and consider this a lesson in style.
