We Can See Tilda Swinton Being ALL About This New Sudanese Designer

While Tilda Swinton's latest outfit selections may be geared a bit toward nap-appropriate, we've found a lookbook that we believe can shake her out of a REM cycle. With a collection that incorporates juxtaposing textures, adventurous shapes, and embellishments worthy of a theatrical debut, the fall collection by Omer Asim is the furthest thing from a snoozefest.
A Sudanese designer by way of London, Asim's approach to fashion is much more cerebral than anything else. A one-time psychoanalyst student, his fashion interest was sparked by the relationship between body and mind, according to his website. Needless to say, the psychoanalyst title soon fell side by side with designer, as Asim gained experience working with the likes of Vivienne Westwood.
Now, for the fall '13 collection, Asim offers an evening-wear-heavy line that spans from the most dramatic of draping to elegant silky slips, topped off with the chunkiest collection of knit dickies — yes, more dickies for autumn. Overall, the results are unique, risk-taking, and beautiful with a strong point of view. If that doesn't have our favorite androgynous actress and style star all over it, well then maybe we're the ones who need a nap.
