Recently, a certain R29er purchased a gorgeous pendant light online. She was enamored. It was going to be the pendant light of her dreams. But when it arrived, it's scale was more "Taylor Swift's loft" than "everygirl's shared kitchenette." The moral of the story? Buying decor and furniture online can be dicey.
So, we're stoked that e-commerce lifestyle destination, One Kings Lane, has launched a real-life showroom in New York where you can touch pieces before you make a purchase. Located in the site's Tribeca offices, The Studio showcases a living room, den, bedroom, dining room, kitchen, and foyer entirely furnished and impeccably styled with items from among the site's 80,000 pieces of inventory — ranging from vintage to artisanal wares. According to cofounder Susan Feldman, "We felt it was time that our customers could touch and feel our brand, so we reverted back to our startup roots — in less than eight weeks, we brought The Studio to life."
If you're struggling with apartment problem areas or shopping indecisiveness, the site also offers complimentary design consultation from one of its stylists. (Plus, there's free shipping.) Click through for a peek at all the inspiration to be gleaned from the new brick-and-mortar showroom, and book your appointment online now if you're in NYC.
