Orly’s Spring Nail Polishes: A Mixed Bag Or Colorfully Unexpected?

We couldn't let Orly's 6 new shades hit counters without noting that while each shade is most definitely mood-lifting and spring-like, we're hard-pressed to find an undercurrent of continuity in the collection's palette. Dubbed the Precious Collection, the polishes were designed to recall "ornamental engravings and sumptuous fabrics" and sure, names like Ancient Jade and and Sapphire Silk help tie it all together, but the melange of hues tells a different story: The line of lacquers includes a pale, taupe creme; two metallic hues—one deep blue, one coral; and three colorful cremes—a shocking bright pink, a minty green, and a dusty denim blue. But because there's something so contagiously cool about being un-matchy, we'll happily file these polishes under "versatile separates" and add them to our spring rotation.
