We were pretty jazzed when Kate and Laura Mulleavy gave the Death Star a fashion moment on the Rodarte Fall '14 runway. So, we'd expect that an editorial spread of these nerd-powered gowns would be worthy of a galaxy far, far away. And, Paper doesn't disappoint: The magazine has taken sci-fi fashion to a whole new level by seeking out the absolute best setting for a Star Wars-themed photo shoot: chez George Lucas.
Photographer Todd Cole and Paper took the gowns to Skywalker Ranch (yes, that's its name) in California — the headquarters of Lucasfilm. There, the Rodarte creations fit seamlessly into the landscape. And, to round out the look, the crew enlisted the help of some familiar faces.
In their first professional modeling gigs, Yoda, R2-D2, and C-3PO pose with their high-fashion counterparts. Cole also shot them solo, and it's clear the droids and Jedi Master have all got a knack for the business; once they create their portfolios, we'll have to revisit our list of models to watch.
