Here’s Petra Nemcova Seducing James Frey With An App

Well, kinda. In a Phillip Van-directed "white-noir" short film, model Petra Nemcova, scantily dressed as a French maid-cum-Playboy Bunny, seduces literary rebel James Frey with an iPad displaying the iPhone app, Booktrack, billed as "A new form of entertainment." The app—whose launch party we attended last week at Yotel—is set to bring your next good read to another level, with new technology that utilizes sound effects and ambient sounds automatically paced to an individual's reading speed— basically a synchronized soundtrack for e-books. With funding from industry bigwigs like Peter Thiel, co-founder and former CEO of PayPal, and in partnership with most of the major publishing houses and best-selling authors (yep, James Frey), award-winning composers and musicians, Booktrack's certainly well-positioned to market to and attract readers that are looking for a next-level way to approach literature. We're not sure if it will catch on, but we really wish we this existed back in our high-school days. We bet after seeing Petra's curves in the video, at least the teenage boys will agree. And James Frey.
