Last Night’s Carnival-Themed, Ne-Yo-Filled, Prabal Gurung x Target Launch

When we heard Prabal Gurung's Target collaboration launch was going to be carnival themed, our first thought was "Ohh cotton candy!" and our second thought was "Isn't all of this NYFW nonsense just one big carnival? Is Prabal being meta?" But then we moved on. We got distracted by the flashing lights of the "Love" rides, the delicious food trucks, the cocktails served in lemons, and, of course, Ne-Yo.

Carey Mulligan was there with Prabal, Elizabeth Olson was adorable, and everyone actually looked like they were having fun. Yes, we played the strong-man games, ate some dumplings, shopped the collection, and then, just as we thought the night (which transformed Pier 57 into a decadent wonderland) couldn't get any better, Ne-Yo stepped on stage, signature fedora hung low, lips pursed, sequin scarf (or was it a necklace?) dangling from his neck and played all his hits.

So, you tell us, was it just a coincidence, or did Prabal and Ne-Yo really team up for some real meta moments when they created a Fashion Week party that made the lyrics, "Give me everything tonight," resonate on a whole new level?
