Boxy, Blinged-Out Brides Of Chucky: Prada Reminds Us Why She’s The Master

There's a certain jolie-laide look that's ever-so-popular right now — you know, the slightly boxy, blinged-out, clashing mixed prints, '70s-male-porn-star-moonlighting-as-a detective vibe. From Proenza to Marc to J.Crew and beyond, all of the designers working this look owe something to Miuccia Prada, who's been doing it for years, and, mind you, probably doing it best.
Her fall '12 collection really was like a visual reminder of who the master really is; luxurious menswear (all delicious awkward and cropped), matchy-matchy prints, splashes of oversized gemstones and beadwork, sleeveless coat dresses that felt both frivolous yet completely necessary… all paired with the most sinister powdered doll-face makeup since Bride of Chucky.
