Quail’s New Collection Is Date-Worthy

We'll be the first to admit that sometimes fashion can seem inaccessible, with outrageous couture outfits barreling down the runway that anyone but Gaga would shudder to wear in real life. But, thankfully, we've got an arsenal of go-to labels with clothes that are accessible without being boring. Enter Quail's fall '10 collection, based around a theme that we can all relate to. Appropriately entitled Cross My Heart—it was inspired by a playful boy-meets-girl romance similar to that of The Notebook, but more sweet than saccharine. Designer Michelle Williams, whose aesthetic can be traced to her endless childhood vintage store quests, has crafted another knock-out line for the ideal fall wardrobe. The pieces are undeniably feminine but modern, cut in luxurious fabrics like silk and chiffon, with hues of red, taupe, ivory, and black—resulting in a whimsical yet wearable effect that we expect to see prettying up any number of cool chicks at, say, Marlow & Sons. We adore Williams' relaxed take on the wrap dress, and are positively dying over the slashed long-sleeved body suits. Start planning your wish-list now: Your next whirlwind romance could be right around the corner...cross our hearts, hope to die.
