We love to brag about New York in the summer — rooftop bars are open, restaurant waits are shorter, and the parks are green. But, by the time it's August, we have to confront the truth: There is no substitute for getting out of town. So, when we were handed the keys to the R29 Beach House, we knew exactly where to go for an epic escape.
With the help of Secret, senior style editor Annie Georgia Greenberg invited a handful of friends out (including Chrissy Ford of Harper's Bazaar, Natalie Joos of Tales of Endearment, and Lucky's Attie James) to our Montauk home away from home for a nonstop, 48-hour adventure. We lounged by the pool, kicked back in hammocks, and stumbled onto a secluded beach. Whether or not it was private is still up for discussion.
