These New Body Products Contain All The Secrets Of The Rainforest

Most fans of greener pastures in the beauty world know and love (or, rather, lust after) Rahua, the luxury hair-care line that was born from stylist Fabian Lliguin's trip to the Amazon rainforest, where he was doing humanitarian work. It was there that he discovered ungurahua oil, a precious ingredient beloved by the women of the Quechua-Shuar tribe for its nourishing properties. In true American fashion, Lliguin brought his newfound treasure back to the States, where a team of chemists examined its molecular structure and said it's unlike other botanical oils since it can deeply penetrate, bond, and repair hair. Just a few short years later, Rahua has earned cult status in the industry, boasting consistently sold-out products at ultra-luxe retailers like Barneys and Net-a-Porter.

So, it wasn't rocket science for Lliguin and his co-founder, Anna Ayers, to expand their range. "The brand's loyal fans started asking us if they could use our Elixir or conditioners on their bodies," Ayers says. "And, at the same time, I was pregnant and searching for natural luxury and indulgence for my skin. So, we decided to make it ourselves!"
The result is a three-part collection, comprised of a shower gel ($30), body lotion ($48), and body oil ($57). Each of the products house the brand's hero ingredient, but they're also enriched with quinoa (a potent antioxidant), buriti oil (an emollient that contains provitamin A), and Sacha Inchi oil (a lipid compound that's rich in omega-3).
Beyond all of the skin benefits, Lliguin and Ayers wanted to infuse the body line with the relaxing, aromatherapeutic elements their hair products are known for, enriching their signature Palo Santo-oil scent with notes of lavender, eucalyptus, and decadent vanilla bean.
All of this translates to the most gorgeously rich and indulgent concoctions you've ever rubbed on yourself. It feels kind of like bathing in money, but not in a gross way — in a totally chic, delicious way. The shower gel glides on like silk, and when you wash it off, you can still detect a layer of the nourishing oils. Post-shower, you can douse yourself in the illuminating oil (which dries before you've even had time to start your makeup) or apply the body lotion, which can only be described as a cashmere sweater in a bottle. ("Your skin feels like a baby's forehead" is a creepy-but-awesome compliment we've received since we started using it.)
The collection, launched today, arrives just in the nick of time, since itchiness and tiny red bumps tend to accompany cooler weather. We could all use extra motivation to give our bodies a little TLC, and we think these beautifully packaged gems will do the trick.
