It's been a few years since we've last heard from Swedish Italo-disco singer Sally Shapiro, but "What Can I Do" continues with the glitter-pop formula she perfected on 2009's My Guilty Pleasure. Shapiro has always been an artist where atmosphere is as important as melody, and "What Can I Do" is no different.
Taking on elements of indie pop and mixing wispy vocals with light-as-helium synths and even a flute solo, "What Can I Do" feels as inconsequential as a day in the park. It's the sort of track you'll want to play again as soon as it's over, for fear that it might just float away forever. Look out for Shapiro's upcoming album, Somewhere Else next year.
