Santigold Rocked MOCA’s House Last Night, Plus A Peek At The Actual Exhibit

Since we were bop-a-bopping around Coachella here and there, we couldn't possibly be everywhere we wanted to be, and it was a big bummer that we had to miss Santigold's act at the fest. Well, last night, our regrets were wiped clean, when the sharp-tongued, sickly styled singer headlined a totally different act, this time at the opening of Mike D's MOCA event "Mercedes-Benz Transmission LA: AV CLUB" at the Geffen Contemporary space.
She brought her A-game to the intimate affair, and we couldn't help but think that had we seen her in Indio, there's no way we could've gotten so close without having a claustrophobia-induced anxiety attack! The rad rapper brought fans on stage (these peeps could move), and the costumes were spot-on with the tripped-out gallery exhibit going on inside.
Which brings us to the best part: the Beastie Boys frontman's eclectic exhibit is perhaps one of the best that we've caught during our ongoing love affair with MOCA. Equal parts carnival madhouse and digital odyssey from a future era, there's no way you won't have a blast checking out this serious sensory overload. The display will be showcased for three more weeks, and don't worry, there are plenty more musical acts lined up for you to get your groove on, too! Click through for a sneak peek at just how va-va-visual the gallery is looking right about now.
When: Now through May 6, check museum hours here.
Where: The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA, 152 North Central Avenue (Near East 1st Street); 213-626-6222.
