Selena Gomez recently acquired some more body art, and it has a lot in common with Cara Delevingne's new "breathe deep" tattoo. Both were done by artist Bang Bang McCurdy, who told E! News all about Selena's new body art, which she got about a month ago. It's on the upper-right side of her back. "Its meaning translates to 'Love Yourself,'" Bang Bang explained to E.
An R29 staffer adds that the Arabic words essentially mean "love yourself first." He also points out that Selena has shared photos where she's wearing a necklace with her name written in Arabic.

With Cara's reminder to breathe deep[ly] and Selena's message of self-acceptance, could positive-affirmation body art officially be a trend? Ahead, some more celeb tats with a self-help spin.
Bang Bang is also responsible for Demi Lovato's positive ink, which reads "Now I'm a warrior."
"Breathe deep" isn't Cara's first affirmational tat. Bang Bang scrawled "Don't worry, be happy" on her ribcage earlier this year.
Miley Cyrus has "just breathe," which is reportedly a tribute to a friend, tattooed on her ribcage.
Miley also has "love" written on her ear, which she says is a reminder to tune out negativity and focus on the positive.
Rihanna has "Never a failure, always a lesson" tattooed on her shoulder. It's written backward so RiRi can easily read it when she looks in the mirror.
Bang Bang also did Rihanna's Sanskrit prayer tattoo. It's meant to read "forgiveness, honesty, suppression, and control," but, apparently, it's misspelled, so it reads "long suffering, truthfulness, self-restraint, inward calm, fear, and fearlessness."
This, of course, brings up another important reminder about getting tattoos in a non-native language. Always have them proofed by someone who reads and speaks said language before having them permanently inscribed on your body. Otherwise, shine on, you positively affirmational diamond.
