Every Dude Should Be Scooping Up Shipley & Halmos’ Fall Line

Some things just get better with age. While we're not discussing a perfectly aged Bordeaux, the maxim is no less apt when applied to quintessentially cool, NYC-based menswear brand, Shipley & Halmos. Celebrating five years in the biz, the boys behind the label (and longtime R29 buds), Sam Shipley and Jeff Halmos, have delivered another timeless menswear collection for fall '13. And, no gimmicks here: "It's safe to say we've spent more time thinking about how the brand is evolving than on specific seasonal stories, like Shackleton's expedition in 1914 meets RuPaul's reality show," the guys say.
Looks like that dedication has been put to good use for S&H's autumn offerings. Once again, it manages to hit the perfect median between casual and dressy on the proverbial head, with clean classics and expertly tailored formalwear (investment-piece gold for any dapper dude). This season, look for all the rich hues that go along with the changing leaves (clay brown, forest green, plus, and camel), plus awesomely textured fabrics that make for spot-on layering pieces (we're talking tattersall checks, Donegal tweeds, shearling, and corduroy). Yo, Sam and Jeff, just in case you're reading: We're particularly fiending for that tartan peacoat, wool-and-leather varsity jacket, and live-in-em-always light denim. Thankfully, Ru Paul won't like anything you're about to see.
