We love SXSW for discovering emerging talent in the music, tech, and film space — not to mention the casual style stalking that happens in between events — but we've got to admit, all of that creative energy really put us in the mood to party. And, since we happen to know a thing or two about fashion and technology, we merged the two industries for an event that we're still reeling from.
Simon Malls and kate spade new york met us down at Austin's Southern-cooking hot spot, Olamaie, to host Style Bytes, a colorful dinner party full of tropical inspo and yummy bites. Here, fashion and technology leaders were able to connect in a more relaxed setting — a nice (and delicious) break from their packed SX schedules — and take notes from host Meridith Valiando Rojas, DigiTour's co-founder and CEO, who delivered a powerful speech about entrepreneurship. The punch was flowing, the swag bags (complete with Simon gift cards and ksny sunglasses and phone chargers) were on point, and the crowd was an inspiring mix of industry all-stars (think: thought leaders from Apple and Facebook rubbing elbows with Nasty Gal's Sophia Amoruso).
