Miami’s Style Stars Turn Out For This So-Hot Hotel Soirée

1
Coming all the way from the West Coast (L.A. and Vegas to be exact), is the SLS Hotel, a new Collins' staple (we, we know, we've talked about it countless times). As we mentioned, the hot spot has all the glamour of a ritzy hotel, with just enough kitschiness to make you feel right at home (what else could you expect when Philippe Starck outfits your walls?).
This week, they welcomed Miami’s elite for their Ringing of the Bells event — the bubbly and sparkling vodka were flowing, and the Hors d'oeuvres were on deck all night, like exquisite sushi rolls from Katsuya by Starck and Latin-infused bites from The Bazaar by José Andres.

They’ve kept an ode to the past (the building still boasts The Ritz Plaza at the top), while the name of the hotel lingers inconspicuously above the grand entrance, welcoming you to the world of SLS. The lobby boasts a black, red, and white color scheme with velvet curtains, a grand chandelier of sea shells, and a pool deck of lush cabanas. Refreshing cocktails were served at Hyde Beach, the SLS’s pool lounge and bar — picture Uncle Bill’s tacky Hawaiian Bungalow (if you have an uncle Bill) with seductive hula girl lamps and bobblehead dolls and palm tree cushions.
Sadly, the event had to end at some point, but we are certain of one thing: The cool ambiance, delicious cuisine, and superb service are sure to make the SLS the new spot for the who’s who of Miami. Have we told you we love it?
