Even dedicated train lovers (like certain Refinery29 writers, ahem) agree — train travel in America hasn't exactly had a good 21st century so far. Well, perk up your ears, trainspotters, Levi's artist Doug Aitken and a slew of top talents are giving travel by rail a little shot in the arm.

Throughout September,
Station to Station: A Nomadic Happening
is chugging, via train, to 10 stations, moving east to west across America with a gaggle of art installations, artist interviews, and live concerts. At each stop along the way, Levi's will invite the public to board the Aitken-curated train compartments, play with its interactive art, and check out the various booths and distractions at a full-sized bazaar. Aitken has rallied together some truly killer talent with folks like Olaf Breuning, Peter Coffin, Urs Fischer, Kenneth Anger, Carsten Höller, Aaron Koblin, and Jack Pierson providing art; Beck, Dan Deacon, Eleanor Friedberger, Nite Jewel, No Age, Savages, and Twin Shadow on music; and Alice Waters and Leif Hedendal whipping up edible goodies. Who says the age of train travel is dead?

For more details, dates, stops, and, of course, tickets visit Station to Station's website. All aboard, folks!
