Summer Hair And Makeup Get Drenched

The liquid look that personified supes in the late '80s is having a moment once again. Blake Lively graced the June cover of Vogue with watered-down locks and designers like Alexander Wang, Prabal Gurung, and Jason Wu sent models down the runway last season with slicked hair, dewy skin, lacquered lips, and glossy eyeshadow that gave the recent matte-look its walking papers. Now, the ultimate summer wet look is a sexy riff on just-emerged-from-the-pool glamour (think Helmut Newton circa the '70s) or the laid-back surfer-girl vibe. And thankfully, it's ideal for summer's rising temps and hair-averse humidity (don't call us sweaty, we prefer the term "lit from within"). Even if you can't dive into being fully fluid, you can still make a splash by choosing one water-inspired element to project a shimmering, dewy-fresh glow.
