Olsen Exclusive: First Look At Textile’s Latest Collection Of Goodies

When basics take a doomed turn toward the, well, blah, even the most savvy of dressers can drift into a lackluster sea of repetitive pullovers and sometimes straight-up unremarkable outerwear. This is not the case when it comes to the forthcoming collection from TEXTILE Elizabeth and James — the moderately-priced (as in, all under $300) life raft to save us from other borderline-boring basics.

The Olsens, Mary-Kate and Ashley, have definitely upped the ante on autumn essentials, salting them with the markers of high luxury they're known for (without losing the ease and edge of New York street style). Most pieces reveal that heaven's in the details — the leather-limned knits made in extra-soft cashmere, and the exposed-zipper skinnies shown over anything-but-snoozy fabrics, like waxed and pinstriped denim. Other looks make their statements in bigger, brighter bolds; for instance, the Scottish plaid trousers with architectural pockets, or the gray-scale monochromatic camo sweatshirt. No shock here, but our favorite happens to be the one that goes out with a "Baaang!"
