Another day, another store opening, right? In the case of brand new men's and women's clothing boutique The Little House, the answer is a resounding no. We're using boutique lightly here—the co-founders—Savania Davies-Keiller, Joel Alexander Morales, and Michael Capotosto—are hoping to start a retail movement. Calling mass fashion "soulless and ubiquitous," the trio isn't looking just to design and sell their original pieces, they want customers to come in and have a "creative experience." Entering the Sullivan Street shop (Note: Google map it, it's not a cinch to find), you'll feel like you've stumbled into the sweet pad of that neighbor you've always wanted to be friends with. On tap? A veritable treasure-trove of original gems—timeless shawl cardigans and subtly patterned slinky dresses, custom-printed periodicals, vintage memorabilia, and limited-edition candles. If you're getting muy into it, the store offers up the Little House membership program, more a collective of individuals than a Soho House type deal—think early access to collections, bespoke service, and invites to dinner parties, lectures, and private exhibitions. While there isn't an application to join this "modern salon," the owners tell us that if they're feeling your vibes, expect an invite. We suggest dressing to impress, and brushing up on, say, your Bauhaus and Beau Brummell.
