Long have those lucky Northerners enjoyed the coverage and attention of the New-York-based and ever-brilliant arts, culture, and literary periodical,
The Brooklyn Rail. It's a geographic injustice that the Brooklyn arts scene has such a fun mag to cover their doings while our burgeoning creative circle has — what — the Herald?
No longer. This month a local edition of the arts mag, The Miami Rail, will hit hipster-filled bookshops and coffeehouses across our fair city, finally giving us the chic, smart journal we deserve. To celebrate, the publishers are throwing a little shindig over at Lester's tomorrow, featuring DJ sets by Matthew Abess, Scott Cunningham, and Nathaniel Sandle, free magazines, and, while they last, party subs. Yeah, party subs. Seems like The Rail already knows what Miamians like.
