This Is Our Jam : Dauwd, “Shimmer”

You’ll have to bear with me here, but when I hear “Shimmer,” I find myself lost in a vast desert landscape. An infinity of stars paints shifting ribbons of color across the empyrean curvature of the solar system. Alien vibrations slink across crackling emptiness; Lost voices float in a spectral haze. As “Shimmer” progresses, its extraterrestrial warmth grows and I become enveloped amnion-like in its sound. Dauwd may be a newcomer to electronic music, but "Shimmer" feels almost perennial. Then again, I may have been listening on some really good headphones, in which case I suggest you do the same.
