While garage rockers are usually known more for cacophony than complexity, Grass Widow has managed to fine-tune the fuzz with scientific precision. “Disappearing Industries” sees the San Francisco three-piece offsetting sacharine vocal harmonies with metronomic left-turns and Raven Mahon's discordant Deerhoof-esque guitar. For a band that started in the morass of the 2007 indiepop revival with numerous other girl-group loving acts, Grass Widow has set itself apart as a band more deft than deafening.
