JEFF the Brotherhood’s “Shredder” is stripped-down rock-‘n'-roll played loud and fast. As the name implies, “Shredder” does indeed shred—that it is also able to rip, rock, sear, tear, chug, squeal, stammer and stomp is a testament to the duo's economy of sound and manic versatility. In two minutes, "Shredder" runs the gamut from punk to classic rock (and even introduces a weirdly awesome pedal effect midway through), yet everything fits together without excess. Now turn up the volume and play it again.
