Found It: A Compliment-Magnet Dress That’s On Super-Sale

Few things in life make me as happy as people mistaking my clothes for expensive. Maybe free money, or when someone incorrectly guesses that I'm five years younger than I am. But really, these things pale in comparison to that perfect cocktail of feeling both stylish and slightly smug.
Well, friends, allow me to share with you the dress that gives me that rosy sensation every time: Betsey Johnson for Urban Outfitters' Juliana Rose maxi-dress. Having admired it on a coworker for months, I finally bought it last week in a bout of panic-shopping prior to a wedding (and, after seeing that it'd gone on 70% off sale, because I'm thrifty like that). And, it was easily the best $39.99 I've spent all year.
I was able to throw it on with my clompy '70s high-heel clogs, throw a lipstick in a clutch, and was on the party bus to that wedding in seconds. Which is where I learned that it twirls fetchingly to Dancing Queen and The Cupid Shuffle. This is also where I learned that this thing is the compliment-gettinest dress, ever. Family and friends alike asked about it. Later, my boss told me I looked "so feminine and pretty." My editor made me stand up and do a spin. Fashion girls ask if it's one of Reformation's $300 frocks. Some old dude on the street told me I reminded him of his girlfriend from decades past, slightly misty-eyed, which I think is a good thing. Literally everyone loves this dress. It's like the Beyoncé of dresses.
So, please, click ahead to check it out in all its grunge-goddess/Gold Dust Woman glory. It's possibly the world's greatest payday buy, which will pay you in a shower of goodwill each time you wear it. (Additional pro-tip: It runs slightly large.)
