Last night fashion’s finest gathered in New York City to witness the launch of Versus Versace and the capsule collection by J.W. Anderson. And it was good. More than that, it was innovative. The classic runway show was turned inside out, as Donatella Versace and J.W. Anderson personally dressed the models backstage with two-way mirrors allowing the audience to watch the entire process. All this set against a soundtrack provided by live performances from Grimes, Dead Sara, and Angel Haze. As Versace herself explains, “The launch of Versus Versace will be an incredible event, bringing together everything that I love: fashion, music, DJs, young people, and their amazing energy. This mix of music and fashion captures the essence of Versus Versace, a label for a new global tribe.”
We’re certain a tribe will form around this fiercely tailored collection. As with all things fashion right now, there was something of the punk about J.W. Anderson’s collection. The designer’s signature sleek tailoring and minimalist androgyny is evident in every look that walked the runway. Click through to discover the collection for yourself.
