Watch This: James Franco’s New, Creepy Music Video

We've got another highly peculiar (take that pun as you will) James Franco appearance. Adding to his other collaborations, such as aloof award show host with Anne Hathaway and hottie behind the camera with Agyness Deyn in July's Elle, the actor has paired with Brooklyn performance artist Kalup Linzy—for the past year, Franco has been intermittently lending vocals to Linzy's projects. Now, they're debuting a joint EP, Turn It Up, to be released July 12, appropriately adding performance artist and vocalist to Franco's ever-expanding resume (which we lost track of a while ago). Naturally, we can't wait to hear if Franco has any real vocal chops, but for now we'll settle for this pretty bizarre Linzy/Franco music video, featuring Linzy's original song "Rising." We have to give props to Linzy for his synthpop track that's actually pretty catchy. As for his strange game of peekaboo and Franco's sporadic, smokescreen appearances, smiling like The Cheshire Cat, uh thanks, but no thanks. (Pitchfork)
