It's raining, it's pouring, your eyeliner's running.
Wait, scratch that. Your eyeliner isn't going anywhere — not if we have any say in the matter. After all, what's the point of mastering a reverse cat-eye if it's just going to smear into a raccoon eye?
With the help of makeup artist Janessa Paré, we went on a mission to find the best waterproof makeup around. Then, we tested all the products out, creating ultra-gorgeous, on-trend beauty looks and literally pouring water on them. Yes, our model was a really good sport.
The most important thing to keep in mind when wearing waterproof eye makeup, according to Paré, is that it shouldn't be an everyday thing. "Just use it for special occasions and rainy days," she says. And, be sure to remove it fully, as leaving it on can damage your lashes. (Paré recommends Aveda's Beautifying Composition Oil to gently and effectively get it all off.)
All that said, when you do need to go the water-resistant route, we've got you covered. Straight ahead, we're sharing the makeup looks — and their how-tos — that are sure to be the silver lining of spring's many, many rain clouds.
