We always like to get the chance to mix a little movie time with friends, so last night's New York premiere of Jean-Michel Basquiat: The Radiant Child, hosted by luxury group NOWNESS, a new luxury editorial website part of the LVMH group, really gave us a chance to hunker down with some friends. Tamra Davis, wife of the Beastie Boys's Mike D, directed the film, which chronicles the charismatic, roller-coaster life of Basquiat, one of the raddest artists (and craziest party monsters) of all time, all based on an exclusive interview she shot with him over twenty years ago. While we couldn't get out of the office to peep the film, we headed to the movie's after0party at the Boom Boom Room to booze-'n'-schmooze with guests like Leigh Lezark, Andrew Mukamal, the Beastie Boys, and Rachel Roy—all paying homage to Basquiat by doing what he did best—party of course!
