We’re Obsessed With New Book, “My Mom, Style Icon”

Admit it, we've all been guilty of poking fun at our dear mothers for some embarrassing fashion moment. Piper Weiss was also guilty of the same thing until she discovered a treasure trove of amazing vintage pieces right in her mother Marilyn's closet. Since then, she's created a blog showcasing the fashionable past lives of other mothers all over the world, all submitted by readers who are smart enough to realize that even when it comes to style, Mother still know best. Thus, we can't wait to pick up a copy of My Mom, Style Icon , Weiss' new hardcover book ($18.95, Chronicle Books) filled with 200 photos of hip moms, coupled with anecdotes and notes that give the snaps an endearing depth. The book is such an inspiration that we're dying to cop the outfits and ransack our own mother's wardrobe in the hopes of unearthing just-as-lovely pieces. The book is set to be released next month, but we think it'll make the perfect Mother's Day gift for the first style icon in your life—your mom.
