Sarah Mead's Africa-inspired prints.
NYC-based artist Sarah Mead will be stopping through town this weekend to fête the opening of her new exhibit, I Will Always, at the Mission's Nooworks boutique. The multimedia artist, who is inspired by typography and geometric forms and has permanent installations at SFMOMA and MODA, won't be showing her work on canvas, however. Instead, thanks to a textile collaboration for Nooworks' fall 2011 in-house label, Mead's Africa-inspired prints will be showcased on limited-edition prints and clothing to match! And the fashion-art mash-up doesn't stop there. Mead will also be celebrating her first-ever S.F.-based show by painting her vibrant, tribal patterns on the walls of the shop. Ready for a free booze-fueled, print-tastic time? Get the deets, below, and note that Mead's pieces will be on display until October 6.
