Whit’s So-NYC Resort Line Takes The Boring Out Of Beach Time

With all the tired caftans and tedious coverups floating around, it's a wonder people don't fall asleep just shopping for the beach. Real talk: Who decided that the beach has to be boring? Well, we've found at least one designer who won't bow to the dictums of sandy, narcoleptic fashion, and it should come as no surprise that it's Brooklyn-based Whitney Pozgay.
Sure, it's been a few since she punched a clock at Steven Alan (as head designer!), but we've noticed that her eponymous label Whit has stood steadily on at least one of the brand's best trade tricks: good tailoring, great clothes.
This season, Pozgay proves our makeshift motto right on several silhouettes. Set against a dreamy Coney Island backdrop, the ruched cap-sleeve dress and paneled frock pop as much as the pretty-girl basics, like the printed silk button-down and a pleated bell-mini. Luckily, Pozgay doesn't trade comfort for quality, so even the ubiquitous summer terry cloth comes with high design perks, including asymetrical hems and pockets that finish off the garments perfectly, just like they would a weekend vacay (awww!).
