For any girl growing up in the original
Sex and The City
era (yes that means pre TBS reruns), Carrie Bradshaw will always be a role model, right up there with Hillary Clinton and Jenny from the Block. We think the same can be said in 2011 of Gossip Girl's wild child Serena Van der Woodsen, who, let's face it, would be the best older sister ever. So, it all kind of makes sense that Blake Lively is reportedly (we're stressing the reportedly) being considered to play the younger Carrie Bradshaw in a prequel to the two former SATC movies from producer Michael Patrick King. King may be interested in adapting author Candance Bushnell's bestselling book The Carrie Diaries, about Bradshaw's teenage years and her move to NYC (the prolific Bushnell just wrapped up a second novel entitled Summer And The City). While we originally got a flashback in SATCII, we think this flick could help undo the monumental damage the second installment caused to the franchise as a whole, though no word on whether Lively would even be interested in doing a van der Woodsen redux. Personally we think Leighton Meester would make a perfect Charlotte. Xoxo. (Observer)
