Fashion’s Fiercest Literary Ladies Have Co-Authored A Book

It can be hard to find people who love talking about fashion quite as much as we do — the average person has their limits. So, you can only imagine our glee when we found out that Sheila Heti, Heidi Julavits, and Leanne Shapton were planning to release Women In Clothes, a massive collection of interviews, photographs, illustrations, and meditations that includes contributions from some of our all-time favorite ladies.

Just a few of the highlights: Lena Dunham fills out a survey about clothes while sitting naked on a striped ottoman. Molly Ringwald interviews Cindy Sherman about her first clothing memory. Kim Gordon explains what it really means to "look cool." And, Tavi Gevinson reveals the logic behind her color taxonomy in surprising detail. ("Red is infallible when it comes to power-dressing, as proven by the high school hierarchy in the 1989 film Heathers.")

Last night, R29 celebrated the book's launch with a party cosponsored by Blue Rider Press and Rachel Comey at the latter's Soho store. Ahead, some of our favorite snaps from the event.
