What have you loved about fashion week so far?
I love seeing the people who are going to the shows. I love to see what they are wearing. I love seeing how people express themselves in a situation where you kind of want to be noticed — that’s very intriguing to me. I went to the London College of Fashion masters show and I thought there was so much amazing new talent and so much innovation that I think there are going to be some superstars in the new year.
Stylewise, are you inspired to try anything new?
My own style is going through a bit of a metamorphosis. I’m really into the idea of just looking a bit more grown-up, showing off curves, and wearing lipstick. And I’ve got a little haircut going on. At the Belle Sauvage show, it was so colourful and harsh that I liked the power that it portrayed. I’m really into big shoulders and sharp silhouettes.
Which British labels do you love wearing?
I love Simone Rocha. I’ve worn some of her stuff for a shoot. I was also at the Elle Style Awards when she won Best New Designer and I was so happy for her. She’s got an actual different perspective, which I love. And Jonathan Saunders — if I could ever wear him, that would be amazing.
What are you taking with you on tour?
I have been kindly loaned some lovely Moschino dresses, and they are quite fun and colourful, which is good for the stage. Normally, I pack a load of my vintage stuff because you can rework it for each show and put different combinations together. I quite enjoy the process of doing that. And I have to make sure I have all my makeup with me and my shoes.
Do you have any secret beauty tips you could share with us?
If you want to look fresher, less makeup is the key. I just wear concealer under the eyes and around the nose, and drink loads of water. I have Jurlique rose balancing mist spray. If I’ve just done my makeup and it feels a bit dry, I spray it on top of the makeup and it gives me a bit of a glow.
What secret place do you love to go to when you are in London?
Abney Park Cemetery is just gorgeous. It’s nice to go there for a secret, quiet, secluded walk. And it’s free!
What can we expect from you this year?
I will release a few singles, but I’m mainly touring this year. I’ll be at all the festivals, and I’ll be doing a U.K. tour. Then I’ll be going to America to tour, and hopefully, I’ll have some free time in May to start work on the new album
The album, Is your love big enough?, is available to buy now.
