Skyping With Cynthia Rowley- SAIC Previews Its Upcoming Fashion Show

Spring is here and that means a whole new flock of baby designers are about to be born from Chicago’s design schools. SAIC kicked off the season with an awesome press luncheon featuring a special cyber-visit from Cynthia Rowley and her husband Bill Powers—she will be awarded the Legend of Fashion Award at The Walk on April 19. They Skyped in from her Bleecker Street studio to share the news that this year, they would be introduced by Jerry Saltz of Work of Art show fame, and The Walk would be MC’ed by the one and only Mickey Boardman. Last year’s star-studded event honoring Ikram Goldman featured surprise visits from Jenna Lyons, Jason Wu, Laura & Kate Mullavey, and Sally Singer, so we can only imagine who will be spotted in the crowd this year. They also gave us an exclusive look at the work that would be featured in the show from Dan Wittenberg, Thierny Smith, Leah Babette, Alex Ulichny, Abby Thomas, and Jasmine Tsang.
