Want to know what colour everything from your water flask to scarf will likely be in 2017? Well wonder no more, because Pantone has released its Colour of the Year for 2017.
A sort of frog green, the shade is officially called 15-0343 TCX Greenery. And don't underestimate the power of Pantone's Colour of the Year. 2016's chosen hue was Rose Quartz and Serenity and it was everywhere over the last 12 months.
Pantone has released its annual chosen colour since 2001, forecasting design trends from fashion to homewares. But it insists that the shade says something about our society, too.
This colour is described as a “fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring”. And after 2016, who isn't up for a new start?
Aesthetically, 2017's shade is a little more challenging than this year's. I, for one, shan't be racing out to find underwear in the 'it' colour any time soon. But mark our words: you're unlikely to make it to December 2017 without a little 15-0343 TCX Greenery infiltrating your life.
Kermit must be buzzing.
