Paying It Forward: Gucci Launches U.K. Music Fund To Support Emerging Talent

Gucci Timepieces and Jewellery has launched a U.K. music fund to support and nurture emerging musical talent. This charitable endeavor was first launched in 2012 in China to support up-and-coming Asian musicians.
The company benefiting from the fashion brand’s philanthropy is The World Heart Beat Music Academy, a centre devoted to providing music training to young people who might not have an opportunity to do so.
The luxury label has also partnered with the organizers of the GRAMMY awards, the Recording Academy, to give ten (very lucky) students the chance to attend GRAMMY camp in Los Angeles this year.
Brit Award wining artist, Emeli Sandé will be supporting this initiative. She even explained the reasons why this project appealed to her, “It’s crucial that young people today have the chance to express themselves through music and are given opportunities to do so. Projects like this make music available to everyone. Disadvantaged youths in particular will be able to tell their story and get their voices heard. These are issues that are close to my heart, so I’m really proud to be part of it.” We wonder whom Gucci’s U.K. fund will discover. The next Adele? Perhaps. We look forward to finding out. (Vogue)
