When we were in high school, there wasn’t a day that passed without us pondering: “Who will save your soul, if you won’t save your own?” In college, we were empowered by the notion that our hands — though small — were our own. And today, we still think of Jewel as a poet, an inspiration, and the best Alaskan songstress that ever was. Indeed, we’re proud Jewel super fans. And if you’re with us, you’ll want to hear about what’s going on at Ravinia this weekend.
On Sunday, our favorite alfresco concert venue will present — you guessed it — Jewel, at 7 p.m. She’ll be singing (and yodeling?) tunes from her new Greatest Hits album, which includes “Foolish Games,” “Hands,” “Down So Long,” and other songs you may hear us singing along with (apologies in advance.) Those classic tunes get even more nostalgic with a little wine, so uphold the Ravinia tradition and pack a picnic to take along with you.
