Naturally, we're fans of a good local-talent roundup — our 30 Under 30 list can attest to that. So, we were thrilled when the latest issue of 7x7 magazine came through our mail slots. Its October pages are chock full of the Bay’s best and brightest, starring in the publication’s annual Hot 20 list.
And, while we don’t always condone playing favorites, there were two superstar cover subjects that had our nose deep in the mag’s spine, soaking up every detail. Low and behold, Mission Chinese’s (now-expat) Danny Bowien can be seen in the glossy pages. But for our ears only, we learned his hands down favorite NYC restos (Spicy Village, Glasserie, and Samauri Mamma, to name a few) and that his heart still aches from his separation with Tartine (not that we blame him a bit!).
Also fronting the magazine is Mackenzie Drazen, who is representing the Bay while she struts down runways for the likes of Chanel, Phillip Lim, and Valentino. Despite her uprising status, when she’s off the catwalk, she likes to saddle up for an equestrian good time that's more down to earth than we expected. Of course, the visuals of both features (styled by Lauren Goodman) were equally captivating thanks to Danny rocking Burberry Prorsum and Mackenzie's Prada threads — and we’re giddy with glee that we’ve scooped up the exclusive outtakes of the two in all their dapper glory.
Click through them all after the jump, and then pick up a copy of the issue to see which other 18 wave-making locals made the cut.
