The Onion Cancels All Print Editions, Area Men Mourn

Everybody, it's truly the end of an era. As of today, The Onion is halting all of its existing print editions. Over the past several years the satirical paper has been paring down its circulation, but this is the final step. Editions were once available in 17 cities across the country, but as of today, it was only available in Chicago, Milwaukee, and Providence. The Onion's staffers cited dwindling ad sales as the main reason for the cancellation; the paper will be moving to an online-only system.
The paper will now focus on hilarious daily coverage on its website, a transition that president Mike McAvoy acknowledges, saying "It's sad to see a print edition no longer exist, but it's important to see The Onion succeed." While we're heartbroken to see the last of the print editions go by the wayside, we are relieved that the satires will live on. Where else would we learn about the musings of area men or find out what it's like to have a giant burrito solve all your problems? (Chicago Business)
