These “American Psycho” Mash-Ups Will Make You Smile (Or Scream) BIG

In what might be our favorite cultural mash-up since James Franco took on Riff-Raff in Spring Breakers, the artist Butcher Billy has reimagined number one American Psycho, Patrick Bateman, as a number of other American psychos. The results are spectacular.
In case you're unfamiliar with the character made famous by Christian Bale, Bateman is an elite New York executive who moonlights as a twisted killer who leaves a pile of mutilated bodies in his wake. The cult 2000 film, based on Bret Easton Ellis' novel of the same name, remains one of the most seminal satiric takes on the excess of late '80s Wall Street boom, and the absurdity of the American Dream. (Thanks to all college lit professors for that one.)
In American Psycho, Bateman lives the ultimate double life: millionaire playboy by day, bloodthirsty serial killer by night. So, it makes perfect sense that Butcher would reimagine the iconic image of Bateman screaming with a face full of blood, as other American icons with double identities. Aside from the Joker, who's just straight nuts, the artist includes famous dual personalities like Captain America, Walter White, and Gene Simmons. And, in a nod to meta lovers everywhere, he even includes Bale as Bateman as...yes, Batman. Don't worry, our heads are spinning, too. (Behance) Illustrated by Butcher Billy.
