There are many reasons that last night's Academy Awards telecast will go down in history, not the least of which being that it was the night the photobomb truly broke. After last year, when the trick was new and unpredicted, photobombs almost became the rule when it came to snapping the celeb set. This year, it took more than just throwing up a pair of bunny ears as paps snapped away at a nearby A-lister. Thanks to genre pioneers like Jennifer Lawrence, you had to demonstrate more skill, style, and, yes, physical prowess to make your candid mark.
Another photography evolution in the trend this year was that the photobombees came to the photobombers. As you'll see, Ireland Baldwin, Nancy O’Dell, and Joe Zee set up what was essentially a photobombing station on the red carpet for Entertainment Tonight. Was it cheating? Mmmm, well, maybe. Was it totally, 100% successful? Darn straight it was.
