Hair Secrets From Everybody’s (Soon To Be) Favorite Show

Every now and then a TV show comes into my life that I become full-on obsessed with. Last season, it was House of Cards. Before that, Scandal and Mad Men. The latest program on my unreasonably long list? The cult sci-fi series Orphan Black.
Even though we've professed our love of the show before, I'd just like to reiterate: It's the best show you're (maybe) not watching. The series centers on a group of genetically engineered clones who set out to discover who they are and where they came from. While the thriller aspect of the show will draw you in, what will keep you watching is the incredibly talented actress Tatiana Maslany, who somehow manages to play all six (and counting) clones flawlessly.
But, as perfect as we may think she is, we also know she can't do it all by herself. So, we spoke with head Orphan Black hairstylist Sandy Sokolowki, one of the minds behind Maslany's personalities' looks, to get the lowdown on what's required to achieve the visual transformations for this varying cast of characters. And, let's just say it's quite involved.
Of course, the stylist also weighed in on the Emmy snub everybody's been up in arms about. Sokolowski says: "We know how good the show is, how good the scripts are, and how good the acting is. Do I need an organization to let me know that? I really don’t."
Ahead, get all the beauty intel on our favorite clones — plus, see what's in store for season 3.
