Couples have many hobbies. Some cook together. Some take pottery classes in an attempt to recreate that scene from Ghost. We personally like to binge-watch acclaimed TV shows and co-parent the terrariums we made in a Groupon deal.
But, Sabinna and David from Broken Cookies have an especially unique pastime: They recreate outfits and poses from famous paintings.
"The idea was born a year ago when we were at an exhibition in Vienna and realized that Sabinna was wearing the exact same dress and makeup as one of the painted ladies," the couple tells us about the project. After the pair — who are a fashion designer (Sabinna) and consultant (David), realized many of Sabinna's clothes mirrored those in famous works of art — the "From a Painting" project was born.
"The whole process is very challenging but great fun," the couple says. "You won’t believe how great some looks turn out when you get inspired by art."
We'd love to see them take on some more conceptual pieces, like Marcel Duchamp's "Nude Descending a Staircase, No. 2." Just grab some cardboard and have at it, you two.
Keep clicking to see some of their stunning recreations. (Design Taxi)
