Leonard Nimoy’s Nude Photography Is Beautiful & Empowering (NSFW)

While Leonard Nimoy is best known for playing the original Spock on Star Trek and later establishing The
Nimoy Foundation, the recently deceased 83-year-old was also a gifted photographer.
Nimoy's work
has been exhibited around the world, and in 1997, he released a provocative
photography book called The Full Body Project. The hardcover volume captures full-figured, beautiful women in all their natural glory. The images
were all shot on film that Leonard then hand-developed in his darkroom.
One of
our favorite quotes from the book: “In these pictures these women
are proudly wearing their own skin. They respect themselves and I hope that my
images convey that to others.”
Ahead, we've collected some of Nimoy's most stunning snaps. You can see more of his work at the R Michelson Gallery. We hope you enjoy the female empowerment and self-possession evident in Nimoy's work as much as we do.
